Arthur Home Overview
The
Arthur
Home provides a caring,
compassionate atmosphere where the Residents’ quality of life is of
foremost importance. Staff
and Residents build relationships that benefit each member of the
community.
Though cooperative community efforts, the
facility was opened in September of 1959 with 40 beds.
A 29 bed addition was completed in 1975 which brought the total
bed capacity to 69. A 2009
remodeling project converted several rooms to private and changed the
capacity to 61. The Arthur Home
is operated by Community Retirement, Inc, a Not-For-Profit Corporation.
The
Arthur
Home is easily accessible
off Rt. 133 on the south edge of Arthur and is just 10 minutes west of
I-57. The location, across
the street from the beautiful
Eberhardt
Park, allows the Residents
to view the varied activities there and also have access to the park
itself. The Village of Arthur
has several medical clinics and many health care providers, with one
clinic and doctor’s office on campus, to ensure prompt, easy access to
healthcare for our Residents.
Excellent area hospitals in Mattoon, Champaign-Urbana and Decatur are within a 30 to 60 minute radius.
