Eberhardt Park Our facility lies on the southwest edge of Arthur, Illinois, just off Illinois Route 133. Our campus is part of a generous land gift from the Eberhardt family, which includes, just to or east, the lovely tree shaded Eberhardt Park with its pavilions, playground equipment for young children, picnic tables and benches.

On our southern edge is the medical clinic operated by Decatur Memorial Hospital. This clinic is one of three hospital operated clinics serving Arthur.

Just across Rt 133 to the Southeast from Eberhardt Senior Community is the Arthur Emergency Services Station, a new complex housing fire, EMT and ambulance services.

A block farther east, begins the extensive Jurgens Park home to the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair each summer as well as ball diamonds, a community swimming pool and tennis courts.

Arthur itself, unlike many small rural communities still has a vibrant economy and Downtown Arthur

a nearby retail shopping district with plenty of opportunity to get out and about without having to travel long distances. Most Arthur businesses are locally owned and with that comes attention to keeping Arthur the neat, attractive community it is know as. A number of nice restaurants are also nearby which make nice outings when visitors come to call.

Arthur is surrounded by Illinois' largest and oldest Amish settlement, which, with the buggy traffic, and many small, country, cottage businesses bring visitors and shoppers from all over to explore that area for farm goods and produce, furniture and cabinets, and quilts, crafts and more.

Our Village lies within a triangle formed by Champaign/Urbana, Decatur, & Charleston/Mattoon, in the East Central part of the state. It provides abundant shopping opportunities not only in the village, but in the nearby cities. It is close to three major universities including the University of Illinois in Champaign, three junior colleges, and offers the entire scope of cultural and sporting events one would expect from these higher education institutions.

Nearby Sullivan Illinois, hosts equity theater, and beautiful Lake Shelbyville for boating, swimming and fishing.
